Kortek 19" hook up
«

Hoping someone can help me.
It's been a long time since I replaced a monitor.
Usually always swapped out used ones which were wired the same way and I could just plug it in.
I have a new Kortek 19" to put in my Moon Patrol, and don't know much about wiring it.
It comes with a 6-pin wiring harness (red, green, blue, black, yellow, and white), and it doesn't match the color scheme in the game.
I know I should know this, and I used to, but I guess my brain is fried.
Can someone tell me how to wire this into the games harness.
The harness in the game has the normal 2-piece split connector that I see in most of my games.
6-pins in the one piece, and 3-pins in the smaller piece.
On the 6-pin connector I have:
Brown
Purple/Green
Purple/Blue
Black
*last 2 are brown/white jumpered together and then go to the other connector.
On the 3-pin connector I have:
(no pin)
White/Brown(one of the jumpered)
White/Brown(one of the jumpered) and Purple/White as well.
I don't want to burn anything up, can someone help me please.
Thanks,
Chris

There's no risk in hurting the monitor by connecting the video cable wrong. Do you still have the old monitor in the Moon Patrol? Its connector should be labeled so you can compare the connectors labels on the two monitors and see what the differences are. With that split 6-pin and 3-pin connector, that 3-pin connector is for monitors that have a separate input for different polarity of the sync pin. Some games output positive sync, others negative. Usually, the way it works is that the six pin connector will be:
1 - Red
2 - Green
3 - Blue
4 - Ground
5 - Vertical Sync (positive)
6 - Horizontal or Composite Sync (positive)
And the three pin connector will be:
4 - Ground
5 - Vertical Sync (negaitve)
6 - Horizontal or Composite Sync (negative)
Sometimes the Vertical and Horizontal/Composite pins will be swapped. Sometimes negative will be on the 6-pin connector and positive on the 3-pin.
Does the Kortek have both a 6-pin and 3-pin connector? If so, chances are you can plug the Moon Patrol harness right in and it should work. It won't hurt to try it. Post back here if it doesn't work and I'll try to help explain what you'll need to do.

The manual for the Imperial 19" Monitor is what the Kortek is a direct copy of.
